Oxygen Concentrator Troubleshooting

Is your Oxygen Concentrator alarming? Is the yellow "O2 Light" on? Does your Oxygen Concentrator not start? Lets talk about what it may be!

This blog is to be used as a guide only, and is not a diagnosis on why your machine is broken. To accurately find out what is ailing your machine, it is always best to have it diagnosed by us in our shop, not over phone or email. You can email us at OxygenPlusMedical@Gmail.com if you wish to receive directions on how to send your machine to us for repair evaluation.

Green Light: This generally means your machine is running as intended, and putting out ample Oxygen Purity. No corrective action needed.

Yellow Light: This generally means your machine is putting out between 73% and 85% Oxygen Purity, which is medically too low. The first place the start is always to replace the air filters. Most often, these filters are forgotten and not replaced. A dirty filter can choke the machine and make it not work properly. New Filters are pretty cheap and are the first thing you should try. If filters don't correct the issue, then you probably have accumulated a good bit of use on your machine. The components inside of it may be worn out and needing some repairs to bring purity up to specification.

Red light: This means your machine has major issues, and will not run. You will most likely not be able to fix it yourself, as major components will need to be rebuilt or replaced after we do a proper diagnosis. Contact us to start this process.

Alarms:

A beeping alarm can mean that you have lost power to the machine. So make sure that it is plugged in to an outlet that has power. Also make sure the circuit breaker on the machine or in your home has not tripped. A beeping alarm may also mean Low Oxygen Purity. Is the yellow light on while the machine is running? You probably have low purity. Contact us for corrective measures.

A solid constant alarm can also mean you have lost power, so make sure that it is plugged in to an outlet that has power. It can also mean something more serious like high internal operating pressure. Is the red light on while the machine is running? It is possible that something like your Sieve Bed has too much use, and has high operating pressure. This is similar to high blood pressure. It's not a good thing and can damage your machine.

Contact us for corrective measures. We have been in the business of repairing Oxygen Concentrators for 30 years and can absolutely help you get your machine back up and running!
